It has taken me the best part of a day to get over it,
But yesterday – Jesus – you can’t be ignoring it!
It started with a deal between the Unions and Us,
The only problem being, we don’t get input!
Next we had a bank bailout, because…
We had already guaranteed them boss!
Then we heard that The Mighty Quinn was laid low,
And then the wind blew, and it fell, yes snow!
Later on, electric gone, power cut,
All of that in one day, yes – but…
More important,
Hadron Collider, goes like a rocket!
Most important,
Ricky Martin, out of the closet!!

March 31, 2010My Pen
March 29, 2010Okay, so here we go again
They say, it’s gonna snow again
My pen, it starts to flow again
Until it stops, you’ll know it when
Okay, I might not make much sense
They say, don’t sit upon the fence
My pen, it speaks in present tense
Until it drops, to came it whence
Okay, I may take liberties
They say, you can’t deliver these
My pen, it stings like bitter bees
Until it stops, for pretty please
The Greens In The Emerald Isle
March 28, 2010Apparently, one in every twenty
Would give them a vote.
Maybe, nineteen in twenty
Will give them enough rope?
Hello Yellow
March 24, 2010The daffodils are,
Only blooming now.
Yellow heads still far,
From a portly bow.

March 6, 2010Let’s talk about my country
And my country’s people,
From the shamrock trodden
To cathedral steeple.
Let’s start at the bottom
Well, there’s more people there.
And they’ve plenty in common,
Very little to share.
It’s not like they’re starving
Well, most of them aren’t.
But today, existence carving,
Is their modern art.
Moving up to the middle
Well, things are more spacious.
This class is no big riddle,
Maintain the quo status.
Then there’s the select few,
And also a few selected,
By their birth or crew,
Elevated, elected.
We’re not unique I’m afraid,
This pyramid scheme abounds.
But our foundations were laid,
On very different grounds.
And so from glorious seeds,
Weeds have outgrown the flowers.
Methinks this country needs,
Rapunzels in the towers.
