Phoenix Rising..?

October 26, 2008

Unbeaten so far, now top of the league,
Let’s not get carried away..!
But by beating the Blues, the Liverpool team,
Takes a giant step on this day.

Morning Ireland

October 22, 2008

I’ve heard some breezes,
But there’s one hell of a noise;
From the nasal wheezes,
Of Mac Coille’s adenoids.

And Another Thing…

October 20, 2008

I like my beer from a bottle, but fizzy drinks from a can,
That hardly makes me an unreasonable man.
If a pizza’s overcooked or the music’s too loud,
I won’t remain silent like the sheep in the crowd.
Sometimes I can’t stop though, sometimes I’m a pest,
I keep on going till there’s no hair on my chest.
Friends and family they know, they’re almost immune,
Strangers become more estranged very soon.
I don’t do it out of rudeness, that’s not my intent,
There’s just a small valve on my complaining vent.
So if we’ve met and I’ve moaned, at least your aware,
For those I’ve yet to meet, you’ve a chance to prepare.

Feeling Squeezed?

October 16, 2008

Trust Irish politicians? Ahem, no thanks!
Now it’s not just them – we can’t trust banks!
Our leaders are bunglers,
Our bankers are burglars,
And both squeeze us dry from the flanks!

One Night In October

October 16, 2008

He was wearing purple trendy specs
With a safety pin for some reason.
I’d say he’d wear you down, and yes
We’ll cross paths again next season.

Feeling Sorry For Yourself

October 4, 2008

Boo hoo, I’m in a stew.
Waa whaa, I’m feeling blue.
Sob sob, if not for you…
Baa baa, would be lost too.

Daddy Help…I’m Broke!

October 3, 2008

The prodigal son arrives home,
Broke, guilty, and sheep eyed.
His dad looks and sounds serious,
Then he blinks, thinks less of the crime.

Remembers watching him grow,
Woke, from sleep when he cried.
So rather than compound the guilt he’s
Taken his side, one more time.
