One Way Of Looking At Nature

So far in this house there’s been houseflies,
After the crows who came in and died.
That’s a long story and there have been mice;
There were some frogs, outside, yes thrice.
Spiders, we are, intimately attached
Starlings in the stove, flew out unscratched.
There’s been a toad in the hall,
A blue tit in the loft.
We know a few hares,
They know us not.
